Starbucks and Conservation International

Conservation International CI has been helping StarBucks greenwash their image by selling a token amount of certified organic coffee beans and then helping them to brag about it at places like the World Bank.  CI, are a public relations firm for corporations who give them large grants (Starbucks gave them $650,000)in return for a thick coat of Greenwash and a pat on the back.

CI has also been actively involved in "Bioprsopecting" or Biopiracy, the theft of genetic diversity from the South, which enables multinational biotech firms to make billions in profits while giving back a pittance to the communities they have stolen from.

You can read more about CI's Biopiracy efforts at: http://www.conservation.org/WEB/FIELDACT/C-C_PROG/ECON/BIOPROS.HTM
